Description
Glue Blocks is a strategic puzzle game where you glue falling blocks together to create your own custom pieces. These newly formed shapes are added to your drop cycle, allowing you to use your own custom shapes to clear lines in creative ways.
Unlike traditional block droppers, the core challenge isn't just surviving speed, but managing your own creations. You must balance building large, complex shapes for high scores against the need to keep your deck versatile enough to fit into the well.
Features
- Your own piece deck: glued clusters return later as spawnable pieces, so every run is a custom piece set you created.
- Risk-reward glue: big clusters score big, but awkward shapes can poison your future drops.
- Dynamic wells + gravity: wells can change orientation and gravity direction mid-run.
- Co-op chaos and versus: local/online PvP plus up-to-4 co-op built for "scream-laugh" moments.
Rules & Mechanics
- Drop & Lock: Standard falling block mechanics apply. Position and rotate blocks to form complete lines.
- The Glue Mechanic: Choose to 'glue' adjacent locked blocks together to form a custom cluster.
- Deckbuilding: Glued clusters are immediately added to your drop cycle. You must eventually play the shapes you create.
- Survival: Balance making large clusters for huge score multipliers against the risk of poisoning your piece pool with unplayable shapes.
- Dynamic gravity and wells: Balance making large clusters for huge score multipliers against the risk of poisoning your piece pool with unplayable shapes.
Writing Angles
- "Deckbuilder Tetris": you manufacture your own future pieces, so your strategy literally becomes your piece set.
- "Chaos co-op": falling-block mastery, but your friends are also in the kitchen throwing pans.
- "Dynamic geometry": the well isn't stable, gravity isn't loyal, and planning has to survive moving goalposts.
Quick Copy
One-liner (ultra short):
Glue Blocks is a falling-blocks puzzle game where the shapes you build become future pieces, so you are literally designing your own deck while gravity and the well keep changing.
Two-liner:
Glue falling blocks into custom clusters that become part of your deck, then survive the consequences when those clusters enter your drop cycle as new pieces. Chase huge clears in shifting gravity wells, solo or with chaotic co-op and versus play.
Backstory
Glue Blocks started from a simple irritation: in most falling-block games, your past decisions disappear the moment the piece locks. I wanted choices that linger. The glue mechanic turns every risk into future inventory: when you merge blocks into a custom shape, that shape joins your drop cycle, so your strategy becomes self-made, for better or worse.
